Just beautiful Marcia. You give me permission to smudge but you need to get inside my psyche girl to make the wild messes you talk about. How I would love to do that.
Very kind, lovely comment – thank you, Sheila! I think it’s possible, that our psyche’s are not all that dissimilar. I remember when I first started looking at your blog, two years ago, wondering if you were in close proximity to Margaret Drabble country – but never got around to asking you. and every once in awhile the question pops back into my head.
Love these new at it pastel pieces. There is so much emotion in the seated one. It has a compassionate feeling. I often think when drawing from the model that it takes incredible courage to pose unclothed. Nothing to hide behind. Beautiful work -- quite moving.
Barbara, thank you so much for these comments! It’s true, the life model like all performers is totally exposed. it’s an act of faith I suppose on their part and ours also – a collaboration of mutual trust and respect. We owe them so much! Without the model I'd be lost.
Liza, thank you so much for your comment!!! Even though I am ridiculously late in my acknowledgement, a comment from you is very special to me - I am a fan big time of your work!!! Happy New Year!
This blog is dedicated primarily to the endeavor of list making - an inventory of sorts of various things I've done both in the recent and distant past and recent present - some drawing, sculpture, painting.
My interest in working as an artist has been predominantly figurative and I'm indebted to figurative sculptor John Fillion who I studied with at the U of Guelph.

Marcia, these are beautiful! I agree with Barbara, the seated one is full of emotion and the colours harmonise perfectly!
