Whenever I thought of you I thirsted for the salt air and ocean.
I am thrilled that you are having a whale of a time and producing beautiful water colors!

love, Marciacohen labellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00713812144707226168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5517953110445932114.post-8225057655829316192011-08-05T20:01:37.245-04:002011-08-05T20:01:37.245-04:00Hi dear Melinda

I can only speculate and am thankful for the fashion revolution precipitated by Mary Quant in the latter third of the 20th century.
It is interesting about New York. All that density of concrete and bodies holds the heat and creates something like a blast furnace. I spent a wonderful summer there in my early 20's and the person I stayed with taught me to counter sweltering heat with endless, tall glasses of iced coffee. I'm sure it helped.
Now that you have petitioned Nature for more moderate temps, she has acquiesced!
And thank you for your comment! - it is a soothing balm!!

xo Marciacohen labellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00713812144707226168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5517953110445932114.post-84215057723692941642011-08-05T19:27:10.060-04:002011-08-05T19:27:10.060-04:00Hi Sam,

It's cool how you yield to a temptation to make a play on words - I like that!
I don't know how the folk of Philly coped - probably as you suggest with a fair bit of moaning and groaning!cohen labellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00713812144707226168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5517953110445932114.post-14549488765292425142011-08-05T19:20:54.195-04:002011-08-05T19:20:54.195-04:00Hi Doug,

In case always comes at night fall. Cool, cool weather. What a boon that would be to the hot folks in Toronto and Hamilton.

Love,

BarbaraBarbara Muirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01342757136485853833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5517953110445932114.post-78329005327552622792011-07-26T13:36:43.552-04:002011-07-26T13:36:43.552-04:00Luscious charcoal drawings here!! Surely they didn't wear all those layers of clothing, right?!

What's strange to me is that New York was hotter than Tucson last week. It was downright balmy at 98 degrees compared to their temps and urban heating.

Wishing you perfect summer weather--not too hot, not too cool!Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16793226305585541931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5517953110445932114.post-18851781757420896712011-07-23T19:24:54.157-04:002011-07-23T19:24:54.157-04:00I'll second DD; your drafting is very cool. I'll throw in the dictionary's third definition, "a current of cool air in a room".
I'll bet there was a fair bit of moaning going on in 19th-century Philly, too.SamArtDoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07322356829966791319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5517953110445932114.post-48537590190645186382011-07-23T10:13:50.064-04:002011-07-23T10:13:50.064-04:00Your life drawings are always so expressive
